Happy Birthday Rajesh Khanna: Celebs share their favourite film and song of the superstar

 

Rajesh Khanna, the name says it all. Dubbed as the ‘first superstar’ of Bollywood, he was a versatile performer, who was also called ‘Pasha Of Passion’. His acting prowess, smile and expressions never failed to charm and evoke emotions from the audience. The actor’s debut film Aakhri Khat (1966) was reportedly India’s first official entry to the Oscar’s in the year 1967. Lovingly known as Kaka, he did 163 films and 17 short films. Today on his 79th birth anniversary, celebrities talk about their favourite film and song of the superstar:

I really like Rajesh Khanna because I have watched his films so many times. Movies like Aradhana, Anand, Kati Patang are my favourite. He was the first ever superstar of the Hindi film industry. People were crazy fans of his style. Anand is my all time favourite movie. In the same movie, the song Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli Haaye, is closest to my heart. This song rightly describes what life is and I do relate to this song. My other favourite songs are Gunguna Rahe Hain Bhanware, Kora Kagaz Tha Yeh Mann Mera and Jai Jai Shiv Shankar.

Aradhana - the blockbuster romantic drama film directed by Shakti Samanta which released in 1969 will always be close to my heart for a fab storyline and fabulous performances enchanting evergreen music . Roop tera Mastana was one of the rarest sensuous songs in those days and Sharmila Tagore and Rajesh Khanna's glam and expressions added to the fire.
