"Phulwa" and "Uttaran" fame actor Ajay Singh Chaudhary and his wife Jyoti celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary recently. Though they have been married for eight years only, Jyoti shared, "I feel like I know him since forever, like we have always been together."
"All these years we have changed a lot for good, our relationship has changed, we have individually changed, we have become better, our relationship has become so much better in terms of understanding, and patience," she added.
Revealing the best gift she has given to her actor husband, she said it is the gift of forgiveness, and added, "In a marriage, we need to forgive each other so that our relationship goes longer and gets stronger. We need to put forgiveness into practice, we need to learn the art of letting things go. So the best gift that I have given him is forgiveness and of course, being a full-time mother to Jiyana and not stressing him about anything, and giving him his space to deal with his work."
However, she accepted that it's always Ajay who puts an end to any argument or fight. She said, "The best thing about him is that even if I am wrong, he is the first person to come and apologise or say sorry. He has the attitude of letting things go and moving forward. This is one thing that I like about him and another thing that I appreciate is accepting my family, my friends, or my loved ones as his own. He mingles with them and gives them love as they are his own, and I really like this about him."
But how did you deal with the ups and downs of your relationship? "It has been like a roller coaster ride and thankfully we have been able to overcome the challenges. We have always had a lot of well-wishers around us, we have always had spiritual mentors, and love has always overpowered everything. Besides the rights and the wrongs, love always stood there. So I would say it's because of that we were able to face the challenges and overcome the difficult situations," Jyoti said.
Sharing a piece of advice for a happy married life, she said to handle it with prayer. She said, "For a successful marriage you need to have lots of forgiveness and understanding for each other. It's not just the husband and wife who make a successful relationship, it is husband, wife, and your god. You need to have god's hand in your relation, it is the god who joins you, it is the god who gives you the power to forgive and keep you together forever."
"You can't rely on each other, you can't depend on each other, you have to depend on god for a successful marriage. This is what I truly believe in. And if it wouldn't have been for our belief in god, we wouldn't be celebrating eight years of marriage, and looking forward to more. So there is some force, some power, that has joined us and who helps us keep going," Jyoti signed off.
