Amika Shail takes the blessings of transgenders on her birthday

The singer turned Actress Amika Shail who was last seen in the film 'Laxmmi' took to the streets and interacted with transgenders and took their blessings on her birthday. Amika had a superb month wherein she was seen in Alt Balaji's Gandii Baat 5, she also sang for the same. She was also a part of the most awaited Mirzapur 2 web series.

The movie had been in the eye of a storm ever since the trailer was released online. Several netizens and religious groups accused the makers of hurting religious sentiments - which eventually lead to a change of name for the movie.
Even after the change of name, the banning trend continued. Speaking on the occasion actress Amika Shail said, "Even in life, people resist good things. When computers were introduced many resisted the usage of them, thinking that they might eat away the jobs. But now we can see how computers are aiding in the growth of every field and so many job opportunities are being created from them. I am sure, when these people watched the movie, they realized that all their apprehensions were unfounded. Whomsoever I am met and spoke to, I tried my level best to explain that there is no truth to all the allegations levelled out by the faceless keyboard warriors who created trends on social platforms against the movie. The name of the movie was announced even before the shooting commenced and to object it just before the release is not justifiable. Right from my childhood days in Kolkata, I have been seeing a cracker by this name - were religious sentiments not hurt then?"

Several notices were issued by several citizens and religious groups to the makers, actors and the broadcasting OTT platform about the movie hurting their sentiments. "It's time when we talk about the rights of the historically oppressed transgender community and go out and do something about it - which is more than a tweet. It's time that we truly accept and embrace them. It's time that we become more tolerant as a country. We vouch for their rights to education, societal inclusions, being given equal opportunity for jobs, etc. In fact, we could have a ministry for the welfare of the community headed by a transgender. I wish that this movie opens the eyes of the people and they take the first step towards this right direction and end the perennial struggle of the transgender community to secure for themselves an inclusive, equal, supportive, legally protected and respectful ecosystem which accomplishes the constitutional guarantees of liberty, equality, freedom, and justice" said Amika as she signed off for the moment.
